How popular has the Overlord patent become over the years, starting from the first season to the third season? We can be able to verify this using medium such as social media platforms, Google Trend, even by looking at the official website, copies in print, and current merchandise. Also bear in mind that the popularity of sequels usually decreasing as the sequels keep increasing.
Now when you take a look at the twitter account of Overlord, you will discover that activities have been going on, the account currently has about 100,000 followers and recently tweeted about the possible. Remember we are trying to confirm how far the popularity of the Overlord franchise has gone since after the third season. Overload just like every other business wants to make sales and get profit. If a business is not making profit, then there is certainly no need to continue.
So far, Overload has released three seasons, we are going to look at how much sales and profit these ones has made, I’m certain that is a huge factor that will affect their decision of whether to release the fourth season.
For the fact that they have made seasons 1, 2, and 3 indicates that they have been making some money from it. The question is the profit declining or increasing. Let’s take a look at how much profits they made in the 2nd and 3rd seasons.
Overlord Blu-Ray Sales Performance
There was a huge decline in the patronage of Blu-Ray. After the huge patronage it got in the First season, subsequent seasons saw a massive decline. The first season sold 12,500 copies per volume, the second around 7,000 and the third 6000 copies for each volume.
Overlord Light Novel sales performance
Light Novel sales performance is amazing. Amongst all the light novel anime, overlord came second in sales after Sword Art Online. Each volume has the capacity to sell about 200,000 copies.

Overlord Game sales performance
There is a game version of Overload called Mass For The Dead. It is based on Kugane Maruyama’s Overlord novel series. The global revenue of the game for the month of March 2020 is 500,000 Dollars. Registration for the came on the website started on June 25, 2018, the game app was made available on February 21, 2019. In March 2020 alone the game made more than 500,000 Dollars revenue. Now that’s a good business that is worth doing over and over again.

In conclusion, after all these analyses, considering the Popularity, availability of source materials, and sales performance, there is every reason to believe that definitely there will be a season 4 of Overload. The only reason why it might not happen this year 2020 is because of the current condition of things globally, I’m talking about the COVID 19 issue. So we are looking at either January or July 2021. Worst case scenario it will not exceed 2022.
